# Broadcast acknowledgements

> See who has not read mandatory broadcasts with an acknowledgement deadline, and clear expired pins.

## Overview

Broadcast acknowledgements help people teams follow up when a mandatory broadcast has an acknowledgement deadline and someone has not opened it yet. Open **Broadcast acknowledgements** (`/hr/broadcast-acks`).

## Unacked list

The queue lists active members who:

* Should have received a **mandatory** broadcast that is already **sent**
* Have an **acknowledgement deadline** on that broadcast
* Do not yet have a read record for it

Each row links to the person and the broadcast. Status is **Pending** before the deadline and **Overdue** after.

## Unpin expired

If a broadcast was pinned with a **pin until** time, use **Unpin expired** to clear pins that have passed. A background job also clears expired pins about every 15 minutes.

## Setting deadlines and pin expiry

When composing a broadcast (with the right department permissions), you can:

* Mark the broadcast as **mandatory** and set an **acknowledgement deadline**
* **Pin to top** and optionally set **Pin until**
