# Field permissions

> Store an org matrix for sensitive field view and edit scopes.

## Overview

**Field permissions** (`/hr/field-permissions`) lets HR set who can view or edit salary, medical, and bank details by viewer scope (self, manager, HR).

Defaults are created automatically. Users with manage records permission can toggle permissions inline.

This matrix is the policy catalogue for your organisation. Campsite does not yet apply these rules to mask fields on every employee file surface. Existing role permissions still decide who can open those records today.
