# Fixed-term ends

> Track fixed-term contract end dates, notice lead time, and renew / extend / non-renew decisions.

## Overview

Fixed-term ends helps people teams act before a contract end date. Open **Fixed-term ends** (`/hr/ftc`) for a countdown list, or use the tracker on the person's Job section.

## Notice lead time

HR can set **notice lead days** on the queue (default 60). Anyone with a contract end date inside that window (or overdue) appears until renew or non-renew is logged.

## Decisions

On the employee file:

* **Renew** – decision logged (issuing a new contract stays in Contracts)
* **Extend** – bumps the contract end date and keeps the person on the queue
* **Non-renew** – decision logged; use [Offboarding](/docs/features/hr/offboarding) for the leaver checklist
