# Late and early alerts

> Find past rota shifts where someone clocked in late or left early beyond the org grace window, then acknowledge.

## Overview

Late and early alerts help people teams follow up when clock times sit outside the scheduled shift by more than the org grace. Open **Late and early alerts** (`/hr/late-early`).

## Detect

Use **Detect** to scan the last 14 days for past shifts that:

* Ended already
* Were confirmed, pending accept, or completed
* Have a clock-in later than the scheduled start by more than grace, or a clock-out earlier than the scheduled end by more than grace

Matching rows appear as open alerts in the queue (one late and one early row per shift when both apply).

## Grace minutes

HR can set grace minutes on the queue (0 to 120, default 5). Only deltas beyond that window create alerts.

## Acknowledge

Use **Acknowledge** on an open row to mark it reviewed. The person link opens their employee record; use rota if you need the schedule context.

This queue does not change clock punches or run disciplinary workflows. Clock disputes stay on the attendance dispute flow.
