Gov Monitor watches official sources including government websites, employment law publications, sector regulator updates, and relevant parliamentary activity. The Gov Monitor feed

When you open Gov Monitor, you’ll see a feed of recent regulatory items - new legislation, updated guidance, consultations, and confirmed changes. Each item in the feed is ranked by severity: High severity Significant changes that likely require action from your organisation. Review these first and assess whether immediate steps are needed. Medium severity Changes that may require review or minor adjustments to your policies or procedures. Worth reading but may not require urgent action. Low severity Informational updates, consultations, or minor guidance changes. Useful for staying informed but unlikely to require immediate action.

AI analysis

Each item in the Gov Monitor feed includes an AI-generated summary that explains what has changed and what it might mean for your organisation. Rather than reading through dense legislative text yourself, you get a plain-English breakdown of the key points and any likely implications for your org. The AI analysis is designed to help you triage quickly - to decide at a glance whether an item is something you need to act on, flag for your legal adviser, or simply note for awareness. AI analysis is generated automatically and is based on the source content available at the time. It may not capture every nuance of complex legislation. Use it as a starting point for your own assessment, not as a definitive legal interpretation.

Fact-check and balance

To keep the picture even-handed, each AI analysis includes a fact-check and balance layer alongside the plain-English summary. It is designed to separate what is established from what is contested, so a single political slant does not shape how you read a change:

• Verified facts: points that can be substantiated directly from the official source.
• Disputed or unverified: claims, figures, or framings that could not be confirmed from the source.
• Perspectives: labelled viewpoints (for example official guidance, employer bodies, and trade unions) so you can see how different groups describe the same change. Each is tagged as official, supportive, critical, or neutral.
• Bias assessment: a short note on any one-sided or politically loaded framing detected, and how it was balanced.
• Neutral summary: a politically neutral bottom line you can act on, with a confidence rating.

The fact-check is grounded in the source material available at the time and does not browse the web live. Treat it as a balanced starting point, not a definitive legal or political judgement.

Scan cadence and daily policy checks

Gov Monitor fetches from its platform sources once a day (morning UTC) and fans matching changes out to organisation Updates feeds. In addition to the weekly, monthly, and annual digests, organisations with AI policy cross-check enabled get a daily policy cross-check: Campsite compares recent regulatory changes against your resource library each day and refreshes the policy-risk report, so outdated or conflicting policies are flagged within a day rather than waiting for the weekly digest. Turn cross-check on from /compliance/subscriptions. The Updates feed does not require documents in Resources. An empty policy library only limits conflict detection and suggested edits; subscribed regulatory updates still appear.

Subscriptions and alerts

Gov Monitor separates personal alerts from your organisation’s monitoring baseline:

• Your alerts (/compliance/subscriptions, Your alerts tab): choose which regulatory topics you personally track and whether you receive email or in-app notifications.
• Organisation baseline (same page, Organisation baseline tab, admins only): sets which topics the org monitors by default and the minimum severity for fan-out. This does not change everyone’s personal notification channels.

Changes on the subscriptions and settings pages save automatically. You do not need to click Save. Browse available topics Open Gov Monitor and navigate to Subscriptions. You’ll see regulatory topics available based on your organisation’s configuration. Subscribe to relevant topics Select the topics most relevant to your responsibilities and turn on email or in-app alerts as needed. Receive alerts When Gov Monitor picks up a high-severity item in a topic you’ve subscribed to, you’ll receive an in-app notification and an email alert (when email delivery is configured for your organisation). Weekly, monthly, and annual digests are also emailed to subscribed alert recipients after each scheduled run. Monthly and annual digests include a week-by-week summary of the underlying weekly digests. The subscriptions page also shows Monitoring coverage: your setup progress, which features are unlocked, and links to incomplete steps. This is separate from any billing plan your organisation may have elsewhere in Campsite.

How to use Gov Monitor effectively

To get the most from Gov Monitor, build a regular review habit and use the severity ranking to prioritise your attention. Review high-severity items first Start every Gov Monitor session by filtering for high-severity items. These are the changes most likely to require action and should be triaged before you look at anything else. Use AI analysis to triage Read the AI-generated summary for each high-severity item to quickly assess whether your organisation is affected and what type of response might be required. Escalate to your legal adviser when needed If an item suggests a significant change to your obligations - or if you’re unsure of the implications - escalate to your legal adviser or HR lead with the Gov Monitor item as context. Don’t rely on the AI analysis alone for consequential decisions. Log your response Use your organisation’s compliance records (in the compliance hub) to note what action you took in response to a regulatory change. This creates an audit trail of your compliance decision-making over time. Set up subscriptions for your highest-risk regulatory areas as soon as you activate Gov Monitor. A well-tuned subscription list means you’ll only be alerted to items that are genuinely relevant to your organisation - reducing noise and making the feed more actionable.
