The Campsite compliance hub gives compliance officers and Super Admins a structured way to manage your organisation’s regulatory responsibilities — from subscribing to the areas of law relevant to your work, to running reports on your compliance posture, to handling data subject rights requests. Everything is in one place, with a full audit trail of data access and changes across your workspace.
Compliance features — including the compliance hub and Gov Monitor — are available to users with the Compliance role and Super Admins. If you need access and don’t currently have it, speak to your Super Admin.

What the compliance hub covers

Compliance subscriptions

Subscribe to the regulatory areas relevant to your organisation — employment law, data protection, sector-specific obligations — and stay informed when things change.

Compliance reports

Run and schedule reports on your organisation’s current compliance posture, giving you an evidence-based view of where you stand at any point in time.

Privacy centre

Manage data retention policies, handle right-to-erasure requests, and review the full audit trail of all data access and changes in your workspace.

In-app policy acceptance

Distribute compliance-related policies — such as your data processing agreement — to staff and track who has accepted them directly in Campsite.

Where to find compliance tools

The compliance hub is accessible from the Compliance section of your sidebar, which appears for users with the Compliance role. HR compliance areas are also available under /admin/hr compliance areas, where you can configure the specific regulatory topics your organisation has subscribed to.

Compliance subscriptions

Subscriptions let you tell Campsite which areas of regulation matter to your organisation. Once subscribed, you’ll receive alerts and updates through Gov Monitor when relevant legal or regulatory changes occur. This is particularly useful for student unions and UK employers who need to track employment law, GDPR, and sector-specific guidance.
Subscriptions are configured per organisation. Your Super Admin or Compliance officer sets these up during initial configuration and can adjust them at any time as your organisation’s regulatory footprint changes.

Compliance reports

Run compliance reports to get a snapshot of your organisation’s current standing across your subscribed areas. Reports can be scheduled to run automatically — for example, monthly or quarterly — and the results are saved so you can track changes over time and provide evidence during audits or governance reviews.

Privacy centre

The privacy centre houses the tools you need to meet your data protection obligations under UK GDPR and similar frameworks.
1

Data retention policies

Configure how long different categories of data are retained in Campsite before they are automatically flagged for review or deletion. Policies are set per data type (e.g. HR records, hiring data, payroll data).
2

Right-to-erasure requests

When a data subject submits a right-to-erasure (right to be forgotten) request, log and manage it through the privacy centre. Campsite guides you through the steps required to action the request correctly.
3

Audit trail

Review a full, timestamped log of all data access and changes across your workspace. The audit trail records who accessed or modified sensitive data, when, and from where — giving you the evidence you need in the event of a data incident or regulatory query.

In-app policy acceptance

Campsite lets you publish compliance-related policies — such as your Data Processing Agreement or acceptable use policy — directly to staff in-app. Staff are prompted to read and accept the policy, and their acceptance is logged with a timestamp. This gives you a verifiable record of who has acknowledged your key policies and when.
Policy acceptance records are available to Compliance users and Super Admins. You can export acceptance logs for audit purposes.
Campsite’s public legal documentation is available at the following pages within your workspace:
  • /legal/data-processing — Data Processing Agreement and related privacy documentation
  • /terms — Terms of service and platform usage terms
These pages are publicly accessible and do not require a login.
