The Campsite candidate portal is the public-facing side of an organisation’s hiring process. You do not need to be an employee or have a staff account — the careers page is open to anyone, and the application process is designed to be straightforward from start to offer. This guide walks you through every step, from finding a role to signing your offer letter.

Browsing open roles

Your prospective employer’s careers page is publicly accessible — no account or login required. Visit:
https://{org}.camp-site.co.uk/jobs
Replace {org} with the organisation’s slug (for example, sussexsu.camp-site.co.uk/jobs). The careers page lists all currently open roles with their title, department, salary (if shown), and closing date. Click any role to read the full job description and person specification before deciding to apply.

Submitting an application

1

Open the role and click 'Apply'

From the job listing page, click the Apply button to open the application form.
2

Fill in the application form

Work through each section of the form. The questions are set by the employer for this specific role — some may be required, others optional. Take your time; you can scroll back to review your answers before submitting.
3

Create a candidate account

Before you submit, Campsite prompts you to create a candidate account using your email address and a password. This account is separate from any staff account you may already have — it is solely for tracking your applications as a candidate. If you have already applied to this organisation before, sign in to your existing candidate account instead.
4

Submit your application

Review your answers one final time, then click Submit application. You will receive a confirmation email straight away, and your application appears in your candidate portal.
A candidate account is separate from a staff account. If you are an existing member of staff applying for a new internal role, you still use the candidate portal with a candidate account — these two accounts do not share login credentials.

Tracking your application

After you apply, log in to your candidate portal at:
https://{org}.camp-site.co.uk/jobs/me
Here you can see every application you have submitted to this organisation, along with its current stage:
StageWhat it means
AppliedYour application has been received and is under review.
ShortlistedThe hiring team has shortlisted you and wants to take your application forward.
Interview scheduledAn interview has been arranged. Check your email for details.

The hiring team may also send you messages through the portal — check the Messages tab in your candidate portal for any updates or requests for additional information.

Signing your offer

If the hiring team makes you an offer, you will receive an email notification with a link to your offer document. You can also access it directly from your candidate portal. To sign your offer:
1

Open the offer link

Click the link in your offer email, or go to your candidate portal at /jobs/me and open the offer from your application page. The offer page is also accessible at /jobs/offer-sign/{id} using the unique link in your email.
2

Read the offer document

Review the full offer letter carefully — including your role title, start date, salary, and any conditions attached to the offer.
3

Sign online

When you are ready to accept, click Sign and accept. Your signature is captured electronically and the signed document is saved to your record. The hiring team is notified immediately.
4

Complete right-to-work steps

As part of the offer process, you may be asked to upload a right-to-work document — a passport, visa, or other eligible proof. Follow the prompts to upload a clear scan or photograph. This step must be completed before your first working day.
Check your spam folder if you are not receiving emails from the hiring team — automated emails from Campsite occasionally land there depending on your email provider’s settings.

After you accept

Once you have signed your offer and completed any required steps, the organisation’s HR team will prepare your contract and, when the time comes, set up your staff account so you are ready for your first day. You will receive further instructions by email.
The candidate portal is for job applications only. Once you join as a staff member, you will use a separate staff account on the same subdomain to access your rota, payroll, and other features.
