Campsite brings performance conversations into the same workspace your team uses every day. HR admins can create organisation-wide review cycles, managers can track where their reports are in the process, and every staff member has a clear view of their own reviews and upcoming one-to-one check-ins.
Performance reviews and 1:1 check-ins may be feature-flagged depending on your organisation’s Campsite plan. If you do not see these sections in your navigation, contact your Super Admin to confirm whether the feature is enabled for your workspace.

Performance reviews

How review cycles work

A review cycle is an organisation-wide period during which individual reviews are created for every member in scope. HR admins own the cycle; managers and staff participate within it. Each cycle contains:
  • A start and end date defining the review window.
  • Individual reviews — one per staff member in scope — that each contain a structured set of questions.
  • A status for each review: not started, in progress, submitted, or complete.

Where to find reviews

RolePath
Staff/performance — your own review(s)
Managers/performance — your own review, plus a summary of your reports
HR users/hr/performance — all active cycles and every individual review

Creating a review cycle (HR admins)

1

Go to HR → Performance

Navigate to HR → Performance (/hr/performance) and click New cycle.
2

Configure the cycle

Give the cycle a name (for example, “Mid-year review 2025”), set the review window dates, and choose which members are in scope.
3

Add review questions

Build the question set that will appear on every individual review form. Questions can be free-text, ratings, or multiple-choice.
4

Launch the cycle

Click Launch to create individual reviews for all in-scope members. Campsite notifies them automatically.

Completing a review (staff)

When a review cycle is active and you have a review to complete, you will see a prompt on your dashboard and a notification in your inbox. To fill in your review:
1

Open your review

Go to Performance (/performance) and click your open review.
2

Work through the questions

The review form guides you through each structured question in order. You can save your progress and return later — your answers are not submitted until you confirm.
3

Submit

When you are happy with your responses, click Submit review. Your manager and HR are notified.

Viewing results

Once reviews are submitted, results are available to the relevant people:
  • HR users can see every submitted review from the HR → Performance workspace, filter by cycle or department, and export results for reporting.
  • Managers can read the review summaries for their direct reports.
  • Staff can see their own submitted review but not those of colleagues.

1:1 Check-ins

Regular one-to-one check-ins help managers and their reports stay aligned between formal review cycles. Campsite lets you schedule, prepare for, and log notes from these meetings in one place.

Where to find 1:1s

All users can access their check-ins at 1:1 Check-ins (/one-on-ones) in the left-hand navigation. You will see upcoming sessions, past meeting notes, and any action items that came out of previous conversations.

Scheduling a check-in

1

Open 1:1 Check-ins

Navigate to /one-on-ones and click New check-in.
2

Choose the other participant

Select the manager or report you want to meet with. Only valid reporting relationships are available in the picker.
3

Set the date and cadence

Pick a date and, optionally, set a recurring cadence (weekly, fortnightly, monthly) so future sessions are automatically created.
4

Add an agenda

Add agenda items or talking points ahead of the meeting so both participants can prepare.

HR workspace for check-ins

HR users have a dedicated workspace within HR → Performance to monitor all active check-in relationships across the organisation. From here you can:
  • See which manager–report pairs have active check-in schedules and which do not.
  • Review the cadence and last meeting date for each pair.
  • Identify teams where check-ins have not taken place recently and follow up as needed.
This view is read-only for HR — the content of individual meeting notes remains private to the participants.
